The City of Sydney, for example, describes its green lid bin as a free way for residents to recycle grass clippings, prunings and leaves into compost and mulch. Some councils also run booked garden waste pickups. North Sydney Council collects garden and green waste every second Monday by booking, with an allowance of two cubic metres for a single residence, which the council describes as about a small box trailer load. The rules differ from council to council, so check with yours first.
